Let the damned people kill themselves. That way they can't spread their hatred to the rest of the world. It is they who are the curse of God.

Now that we're pulling out it means Iraq must assume responsibility for its own various problems without using the US as a crutch.  These growing pains are heart wrenching to witness but all in the same necessary.  Evolutionarily speaking, regions of intense conflict breed strength into the species.  Regions of peace breed weakness.

I don't believe the government ever intended to integrate the Sons of Iraq. These peace deals were made between the U.S. military and the insurgents, tribes and some Shiite militias. The U.S. had to put intense pressure on Baghdad just to take up the program and then they didn't allocate any money for it, and again the U.S. had to step in. Now that Iraq has a budget crisis they don't have the money to hire anyone knew whether they are SOI or not. The government has also started its yearly intimidation of the SOI. While the number of SOI leader arrested may appear small the effect is being felt as fighters walk off their jobs because they're not getting paid or go into hiding because they fear arrest. Most of these guys will probably end up on the unemployment line. musingsoniraq.blogspot.com

AS I SEE IT --- by Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown.

Mark my words, there will never be a lasting peace anywhere in the Middle East, not just Iraq.  Tribes have been fighting since, well, forever, and they continue the fight, not even knowing why they hate each other.

All American politicians who say they hope for peace know it will never happen, including Obama.  They just say to be politically correct.

It's an unfortunate truth.  I wish it weren't so.

But that's the way it is, and their's nothing the U.S. can do about it.
