As for reading body language, according to this article, women are better than men at reading the body language of OTHER WOMEN. Does that really surprise anybody?

As for reading the body language of men? No, I can't.

Dude - how much time do YOU spend explaining all of your body language with words? "This smile means you said something clever. It does not mean I want to have sex with you. This laugh means your joke was funny. It does not mean I want to have sex with you."

Women read body language better because they TRY, not because it's a magical ability only women possess and is innately impossible for men. Men who TRY are able to do it, just as women are able to do it.

I'm not sure why we seem to be blaming men here. If you are sending signals to someone, isn't it YOUR job to make sure you are understood?

Why are women sending signals to men that apparently only OTHER WOMEN seem to be able to read?

Let's take a stab at which - they oversexualized the more attractive women, undersexualized the less attractive (older, overweight, etc.) women?

I think the biological explanation makes sense, but there's also a cultural angle - the dominant group doesn't have to read the nondominant group's signs right, because there are few to no penalties for such misreading.

The short answer "maybe you're dumb as a post!"  Most guys are so bad at it they should stick to the tried and true method.  Avoid pick up bars, befriend women, date them exclusively and tactfully approach intimacy.  There is a name for this, it's called courtship.  If you treat women like people and not pelts to stack up on your horse, the "is she isn't she" dilemma will swiftly resolve itself.  I know because that's how I met my wife and my mother and father got together.
