It may be a mistake to make treatment decisions based on race, but racial disparities in health care is very, very real.
While learning of one's genome may be all well and good, what difference will it make for the millions of African-Americans who can't afford to see a doctor in the first place, and can't afford the medications prescribed if they do manage to see a doctor?
We make decision about health care based on race in this country every day.
Unfortunately, we consistently make the wrong ones.
