No excuse!  But I'm sure President Obama has already forgive this young man. Now let' all move on to what really matters.

Sen. Obama did not release this prayer for publication as some on this site have said. That is such an outragious lie and those who are saying it know they are lying. As soon as I read this article, I knew there would be dishonest people saying shameful things about it. The prayer was from his heart and it was deeply personal. That is why the distortion started right away, because these hateful people know it was a look into Obama's inner-most thoughts and feelings and what it revealed was a humble, thoughtful and spiritual man. God is watching and listening and I know he is going to take care of Obama and his family just like the prayer asked and I also know we all have to answer for our sins and those on these sites spreading delibrate false-hoods will have to answer to God for it.

Based on the Muslim tradition in Obama's family history, it is conceivable that Obama will be more friendly to Muslims than McCain.  Jews have to be prepared to live with Muslims in harmony through Obama's bond, or else.

Jerusalem Post -- "In response, a Ma'ariv spokesman said that "Barack Obama's note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel, a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. In any case, since Obama is not a Jew, publishing the note does not constitute an infringement on his right to privacy."

Ha'aretz -- Maariv's response: "Obama's note was published in Maariv and other international publications following his authorization to make the content of the note public. Obama submitted a copy of the note to media outlets when he left his hotel in Jerusalem. Moreover, since he is not Jewish, there is no violation of privacy as there would be for a Jewish person who places a note in the wall."

1) There is no such thing as a sincere and honest politician.

2) Visiting combat areas puts all troops at risk - period.

3) If #1 or #2 evade you, you will get what you vote for and deserve.

Shame on the student that removed the note from the Wall (HaKotel HaMaaravi)!

The Wall is a sacred place. The behavior of all worshipers should reflect the holiness of HaShem.

How could Senator Obamaa possiblpy assume that his prayer would become public when it is a tradition, one perhaps dating back to the first prayer ever placed in the wall, that it is forbidden for anyone other than God to be aware of the prayer's content.  It would seem to me that Senator Obama can't do anything right to please those who oppose him.  He is well received in Europe, and he is criticized because of his popularity with Europeans, he goes to church, but, criticized over remarks his pastor spoke.  It would seem that he is "damned" if he does and "damned" if he doesn't.  Actually, at this point, it is beginning to be a little bit humerous how some can turn his acts into reasons not to vote for him.  Now, this latest one, he deliberately planted a prayer so that it could be found and made public.  Spare me!  AJJ.

The prayer brought tears, I was so moved.  I believe Barack Obama is sincere, I have read his books, especially his autobiography, written almost 15 years ago.  It is consistent with everything he says and has been saying on the campaign trail and before, and clearly his candidacy is an outgrowth of his convictions which were born out of the crucible of a lonely life as a young person, but also as he matured early and recognized his unique skills, and the opportunities he received, which honed these inate skills.

Therefore, the prayer was a further deeply felt expression, as his future unfolds.

So the paper that broke Isreali tradition and morals by publishing Obama's prayer now says Obama Ok'd them to print it?

Because we should believe them, why exactly?

Mr Obama says he did not give anyone permission, and the original story that the paper gave has already changed once, from "it was supplied by a Yeshiva student", to "the Obama campaign told us to print it".

Hmm, which one is more credible, a presidential candidate or the Paprazzi?

I'm going to go with Obama on this one.

Besides, the only people that care are right-wing fanatics like Rush Limbaugh and friends.

"He wrote the note knowing it may very well become public," said one. "Obama is not stupid."

What this Israeli said was stupid. I'm thinking h/she is a McCain supporter. I thought you're supposed to leave a message in the wall, and this is what he did. That's it. Geez, the man drops an eyebrow, and the McCain Maniacs (my take on McCainiacs) go berzerk at him doing this. Man, I hope you and your ilk go down hard...

"He was told by the administration that he could not visit them at the end of the trip, "  .....

The Pentagon was surprised that Mr. Obama cancelled his trip to see the wounded soldiers.  They were ready for his visit and were told by his campaign that he (Mr. Obama) was cancelling the visit.  The pentagon wouldn't allow any cameras in or people in that weren't directly tied to Mr. Obama's campaign, but they were more than happy to have him visit.  To say the Administration wouldn't let him in is not true.   I can not believe that President Bush would disallow any American to visit in good faith any wounded soldier, especially being a US Senator.  I have not read anything about the Administration saying that and if there is something somewhere, I would like a link to the site.  Thanks.

"The problem with this whole story is that Obama's campaign sent the prayer to all the media outlets in Israel before it was ever taken by the Yeshiva student!"

If the prayer in the wall was given to the press before hand as is reported at the web site mentioned below, http://www.worthynews.com/christian-blog/obamas-prayer-at-the-western-wall/, then Mr. Obama must take the heat from the religious of the world in use of a sacred site for political gains.  It is not right and should be condemned if he did release this before hand.  Mr. Obama then would be doing this under false pretenses and wanted to create a stir for the benefit of his candidancy.  I will be looking for more links to confirm this link.  Thanks.

There are many comments here written by people that have not read and understood the Bible...it's time that you start attending a Bible based church and learn much very quickly.

Based on comments...no matter what Obama does he is wrong...you saints are the judges...but please go and study the Bible and let God tell you about judging people and spreading lies...if you really understand what you read...it will change you....

May God Bless You And Have Mercy On Your Souls...

Because McCain will not get you into Heaven...

For hundreds of years christians have layed prayer notes on that wall. So the future leader of the free world does it and its a marketing scam? Well then should we also belive that when he eats at mcdonalds they pay him or when he scolds his children its for the publicity. Let us not for get Barack Obama is a MAN. A great man. but a man nonetheless. he has a family and friends and lives and breathes the same air we do. And in November we will ask this man to lead us. To undo rights that were wronged. Bring back peace to the middle east. And finally bring justice for the family's and survivors of all who fell on 9/11. And hopefully do what no president has done for some time And "PUT AMERICAN"S FIRST ON AMERICAS AGENDA"!!!

Just chiming in. As a Judeo-Christian believer, it is my humble belief that the bond between a person & his/her God is a sacred bond. W/ that said, that prayer should've been kept confidential, as per Judaism's canon's & respect for a fellow person. I'm not a democrat or Barack fan, but I do have respect for what is solemn & correct. Publishing that prayer was wrong.

ara9557, since you appear to be on McCain's side, you should hardly be the one to talk about spin or about a candidate's cluelessness when it comes to the horrors of war.  And wow, I guess my feelings should be hurt by being called an elitist, but, come to think of it, it really is no surprise that the more educated people in the country are supporting Obama.

Posted By: aragona (July 29, 2008 at 6:40 PM)

I wonder what is really sincere here....prayer that is released to the media or prayer that is done in secret that only the Father knows about.

Sounds to me like a marketing scam, period.

Posted By: ara9557 (July 29, 2008 at 6:38 PM)

jbryan70 (July 29, 2008 at 6:27 PM), your remark to another poster is incorrect.  I do not care what spin Obama and his campaign lay out there, but he should have gone.  He is talking about moving troops from Iraq to Afganistan, and he should get a glimpse of the destruction of war as a reminder.  Now, your feelings of being superior makes you an elistist which makes you fit right in with Obama's growd.  Congratulations Brother.

Posted By: sayitboldly (July 29, 2008 at 6:38 PM)

Well who would put a note there ? What kind of christian is he ?  He knows our Bodies are His Temple?  It sounds to me like Obama hates church and christians and certainly white people.  Farakahn was given i life time achievement award by his church and yet he calls Judaism "a gutter religion".  Obama rarely went to church there in his so called 20 years.

Posted By: beta10 (July 29, 2008 at 6:36 PM)

Stupidity reigns supreme. How anyone has the ability to delve into Obama's mind is beyond me. What we actually see is racism on the part of those who abhor the idea of a knowledgeable black man actually being president of the US; and belief on the part of the Orthodox that Obama is anti-semitic.

I ask a simple question, was "aleph" taught to break Torah law by the rabbi in his religious school?

Of course an orthodox press looks for anything to further it's POV towards Obama. Why else even accept that from "aleph"?

JerusalemPulse.  Aren't you a devil disciple, or worshiper.  To even suggest that any individual would write a prayer to his maker and then give it to some one to distribute is sick.  They say Satan would rear his ugly head, and you surely demonstrate that.

Posted By: maramara (July 29, 2008 at 6:29 PM)

Jerusalem Pulse Radio, WorthyNews and lammo1,

Its very disgraceful for you to have such ideas in your head and potraying your devilish ideas on this forum. Obama made his prayer to his creator as all other people do when they visit the holyland. I feel very sorry for you all and my God forgive you. Your write-up demonstrates that you have never visited this land and you are not aware of its miracles. Some of you should repent and ask God to forgive you for passing judgement on a fellow child of God. How are you different from the pharaseas who passed judgement on Christ? You brut of vipers. . I beg God to forgive the student and the new organs that published the prayers.

Posted By: pinkpanther87413 (July 29, 2008 at 6:27 PM)

The student should burn in hades own apt of pain, razor wire wrap, and lemon juice bath, along with the lot of you! How loud would you be if they did the same to McCain?? A child did not remove it, an older student did putz as this was an article 4 days ago!!! Funny only ONE news paper printed it, the rest knew it would be WRONG to do so! Aparently they do not believe it to be an inside job, or a set up, as no notes are to be touched till collection and burned as written!

Posted By: jbryan70 (July 29, 2008 at 6:27 PM)

What a moronic comment by lamm01.  First, Obama did not disrespect any troops.  He was told by the administration that he could not visit them at the end of the trip, although he did visit troops previously on the trip.  Second, killing troops by sending them off to war is a little worse than failing to visit them while there.  Americans are not as dumb as you suppose, and only the less intelligent ones would be swayed by desparate right-wing talking points.

Posted By: Jerusalem Pulse Radio (July 29, 2008 at 3:01 PM)

How do we know the child was not paid by Obama's people to get the note and hand it to Maariv? The identity of said child is Aleph>?! What Yeshiva does he attend? The entire episode wreaks of a political agenda with no concern for the fallout, or worse yet, another part of the agenda fulfilled. It's sinister, but brilliant.

Posted By: WorthyNews (July 29, 2008 at 2:46 PM)

The problem with this whole story is that Obama's campaign sent the prayer to all the media outlets in Israel before it was ever taken by the Yeshiva student!

Of course Obama knew that this note would be removed after it's placement. This man does nothing unless it's for show or approval. He should be asking for the forgiveness of the American troops he dissed. I know that many Americans will not forgive or forget and this will be reflected in the voting results in November. Actually, I'm surprised he left a note. After all, doesn't he walk on water?/ I would think that he has a direct link to the almighty.
