This story does seem to confirm what Obama said as factual.  We all know that the President has lied to get his way and it does not make me not love America because I know the truth.  Why when people tried to impeach Clinton for not telling the truth about his affair, those who wanted him impeached weren't any less American but if you mention Bush being a liar and you are a horrible un-patriotic person.

To the marine who asks what branch of the military did Obama serve...well what about the fact that Bush was in the military but didn't "serve?"  

My brother was  in the military and he served in Desert Storm..I support the military but I don't support wars that are fueled by lies.  I don't support our young men fighting for unknown reasons.  I don't believe in having our brother's, son's, father's, husband's, not knowing when they are coming home and the president on golf outings.

If someone is not in the military, it doesn't make them any less American than someone who fought in the war.  How many rich politicians children are in the military?  Why don't they want their children fighting in the wars?  They are our leaders and majority of them won't let their children sign up to be in the military...what's up with that?  Obama is no less patriotic than those who are already running our country.

Why is it that if you do nothing but sit on your hump or come from another country, you can get all the health care and assistance you need?  Why is my brother a truck driver and he just lost his house because of gas prices and when he went to try and get health care and maybe some food assistance they basically laughed him out of the building because he works.  Ha, you have a job no help for you.  No help for those who work their butts off and really need temporary help.  Lazy, yup here's help for you.  Not from this country, yeah sure of course you get health insurance to get checked out anytime you want too.  Ghetto or trailor trash baby mama, here you go girl go buy you  some lobster.  Drug abuser uuhhh here's some stamps to go sell for drugs.

Me and my husband own our own company and we have 5 children, can we get health care, heck no.  If I was a little less motivated and just sat on my rear, I could collect welfare and do almost just as well as we do now.  We pay out of the pocket for my kids insurance at a whopping $489.00 monthly.  When times were tough we had to drop our insurance, we just couldn't afford it.  Some of you may see $489.00 as not a lot of money but to us...it means a lot.  

The country needs change and quickly and I don't care if that person was in the military, if they're black, purple, woman, or man.  we need change!!

Obama consistently voted to fund the troops.  It's something Hillary has been using to say he hasn't been as consistently against the war as he says he has.

For those who served in the field knows there are always shortages of ammo. Most of the time, it's the officers fault for not checking out those under their command before they go out. Take for instance you know your going to be out for three days. What do you do? What's more important to you knowing when your in the field you can't run to the nearest supply and get what you need. Do you carry more food or more ammo. Do you carry more reading material or more ammo. Are you going to bring your laptop so you send e-mails home or more ammo. Your life depends on what you bring. This is what you do. You only need to eat once a day, which allows the soldier to carry more ammo. Never leave without a full canteen of water. The mouth always goes dry in a fire fight. Forget the newspapers, blueberry, laptop, cell phones, and so much food. Carrying too much weight is a factor in how fast you can get out of trouble as fast as you go into it. When your pinned down you always run out of ammo. This is just normal. Your out on patrol, your not going to be equip to the max. No officer gets the men or the replacements they ask for. This is nothing new. No one in the field has the exact amount of food, water, and ammo they need to withstand a long assault. That's why they call for support. When your in an area thats more active with attacks and snipers, you appreciate getting replacements from other areas who don't have much activity other then providing support. The Captain should know this and chances are he does. There are going to be times when the support you called for can't get to you on time because don't forget they have to fight their way to where your at. What do you do when you run out of ammo. You get the weapons off the enemy you made die for his country. Again, this is nothing new. You want to stay alive you improvise. All good soldiers do. The Captain should know this, and chances are he does.

mr. obama speaks of the troops not having enough supplies. well i don't know how he voted but didn't the liberals in washington vote to cut funding for the troops mmmm. by the way which branch of the armed services did mr. obama serve in? oh yeah i can ask for i am a marine corps-desert storm vet with an honorable discharge. think about it.

Sorry folks but a platoon does not always have a lieutenant in command. Aviation and special forces - both in Afganistan, are commanded by a captain. With regard to the comment about using enemy weapons - it only makes sense - especially if you are SF. Carrying the same individual weapon that is used by the Afgans not only is a good policy.but the practice allows the SF guys to blend in with their surroundings. Also the idea of plenty of ammo being carried is not new - we did it in Vietnam (SF).

That having been said, it still does not excuse the unit not being properly equipped and supplied. It is unfortunate that, until the surge, many of our actions have been the knee jerk kind. I hope that that is ending.

Umm..lamm01, doesn't this article support Obama's anecdote, proving that what he said was not a lie or an exaggeration? And yes it was "words of other" (sic) as he was relaying what was told to him by an army captain. Do you even read these articles or do you just jump staight to posting anti-Obama comments.  If you have legimate arguments please post them, otherwise you do your side no favors with your nonsensical posts. Sadly, I fear my comment will be lost on you, and you will continue to post your inane thoughts on these comment boards.
