i totally disagree with your opinion. Tonya Harding destroyed her own career. We have more at stake than an individual election. Hillary is using racial and gender divisions, latinos against blacks, blacks against whites, women against men to win a campaign -- at a time when Americans need to come together to solve the many serious problems we all face. Instead of supporting Obama in denouncing the conclusions made by Rev. Wright, yet acknowledging the larger issues that spark hatred, she is feeding into the hatred. The international community has condemned the war that Hillary and McCain voted for, and trust me if you go to Europe and other places of the world, they speak a lot more ill of America than Rev. Wright. Some of us prefer to look away from the atrocities that the U.S. government and their hired guns commit around the world wrongfully in our name (that is not covered on CNN), some politicians fail to be self-critical, and encourage is to point fingers on one another and place blame on those who react to the pains of racism and national chauvinism.

Some Clinton supporters are saying they would support McCain (another supporter of the unlawful and immoral war) over Obama, because of the comments of Rev. Wright. Is this not self-righteous and self-serving, perhaps racist in a hidden form? I mean, did he destroy the U.S. economy, did he embarrass us the world over, did he kill thousands of innocent Iraqi and destroy their economy? Does he discriminate against blacks, and scapegoat immigrants? Is he arming white militia like the Minute Man, the Arian Nation and the KKK? Is he displacing americans and giving tax breaks to those who send jobs overseas?

Given the decline in the economy we begin to see racism escalate to an all time high -- until Obama hit the scene and gave us all hope! Through his movement, we witness plenty of white people democrate and republican who are just as upset about some of the very concerns Rev. Wright speaks about. Instead of blaming everything on racism, Obama is opening the dialogue to better all of America. Obama has bridged the gap throughout his campaign, where white, black, young and old are coming together to organize and deal with real issues. He is not a messiah who will solve all problems and he is not perfect. But, he is a leader of integrity and catalyst for postive change. If black, asian, native american, latino and white are torn apart, and politicians use the racial divide to win elections, whether we are democratic or republican ALL AMERICANS LOSE. This is what is so dangerous about the Hillary campaign that you fail to see. It is more than winning or losing a game or campaign. Our leaders should put the interest of the American people first! Win or lose. We must begin to believe in ourselves, and move Americans forward to develop our resources, skills and capacity to compete fairly in the global economy. Or would you prefer to live in a military society, divided by race? Can we eat bullets? Dont you realize that we have a lot of hardwork and sacrifice ahead, and that if we scapegoat and hate one another we cannot win? Our children will lose. Hillary may not realize the consequences of her actions; she’s not that smart. She just wants to win at any cost -- and this is troubling. If we cannot deal with racial polarization at home, how in the world can we regain respectability across the globe and get out of this mess?
For those who appear to be in denial as to the constant accusations and dirty politics coming from the Obama camp, I can only say, "Wake U". He has his surrogates sling the mud and then steps back to say, "oh, I'm above the fray''". Give me a break.... This is guy is just a master piece of crap. Time is now giving a sampling of this man's questionable past and beliefs. Unfortunately, the press decided to give him a free pass and only now is a portion of it coming to light. I'm sure those who already voted for the guy wish they had their vote back.... The results would be that he would be out of the race..... And speaking of race, he's been playing that card from day one....
Please post this comment.......
The metaphor likening Tonya Harding to her opponent "kneecapping your rival...so he can't win" is nowhere close to the disdainful blogs about HRC that readers post across the country after reading articles not unlike this one. Yesterday, the CNN video exploiting a midget (?) to mimick and harass Mrs. Clinton was in very poor taste. CNN deliberately left no room for comment. Keeping journalistic integrity intact, we should avoid coverage of meritless fodder.
Hillary is Tonya on steroids. By the time Hill, Bill and the rest of the Clinton zealots are finished with Obama; McCain will be able to sleep through the fall campaign and still win by double digits. HillBill will begin their next campaign the day McCain is sworn in. The Clinton political cancer will put the Democratic party on life support, but her cause will live on. When it comes to her devoted followers nothing is better than more of the Clintons, by the Clintons' and for the Clintons'.
Obama campaign is behind the race card and all the other smear tactics. People just are blinded by the media and won't open their eyes. Here is some more Rev. Wright garbage from last
Dec. 07!!!! And you want him and Obama in the White House??? I will vote Republican first.
Rev. Wright's Italian Job (Hold the Garlic)
The irrepressible Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. is at it again, this time taking aim at Italians -- expounding a two millenium grudge against the sons and daughters of Rome -- and their (allegedly) breath-altering prediliction for scampi and pesto.
From the Wright-written eulogy for scholar Asa Hilliard in the Dec. 2007 edition of the Trumpet magazine: "(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him... The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."
After calling Jesus's crucifixion "a public lynching Italian style" executed in "Apartheid Rome," he goes on to claim that white supremicists run the U.S. government:
"The government runs everything from the White House to the schoolhouse, from the Capitol to the Klan, white supremacy is clearly in charge, but Asa, like Jesus, refused to be defined by an oppressive government because Asa got his identity from an Omnipotent God."
All this was written before his friend and former parishoner vaulted to the front of the Democratic pack -- and before Obama denounced his previous comments on race, AIDS, etc.
I do wish the campaign would get back to issues.
Do not like the article above but know Barack Obama was not
responsible for saying it.
Unfortunately, Hillary started the dirty politics with her accusations,
distortions and right out lies. The Clintons everything but the
kitchen sink includes garbage that is in the drains. They will try,
say, do anything to win. How sad. They are damaging theirselves,
the campaign the Democratic Party.
I once respected Hillary, but no longer.
Thanks Mr.Starr for this timely article.
I think the super-delegates are human being with brain, they should be allowed to gather, ponder and discuss the critical question facing the Dem party, i.e. which candidate is more effective in winning the general election in November, that is, who can win the key battle states such as Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio ?
Yes, I would agree that Hussein really is Nancy Kerrigan in a suit. He is a fraud we all know that. he has cosen to be part of a ANTI WHITE CHURCH led by an ANTI WHITE PREACHER WRIGHT and has taken his girls there for years. Michelle is also finally proud that a black man has made it through the years of slavery. Wake up America - this county is suffering economically, militarily and in affordable healthcare - those are the issues we need to talk about and fix. NOBAMA - now is not the time to talk about RACE. Lets get America back, then we can go there - NOT NOW. Clearly that is his newest platform so that it takes the attention away from all the GOD DAMM AMERICA remarks by his friend and Uncle Wright. Oh NO NOT ME NOBAMA, you can't fool me like you ahve soo very many others.
Clinton tries that and there will be a whole bunch of us waiting to give her the boot in 2012! Rest assured!
Well, if Obama's camp wants to throw that ugly analogy into the ring, let's run with it - Obama is Nancy Kerrigan. Lots of smooth moves, graceful pivots to avoid the tough questions. soaring leaps of rhetoric that only disguise his National Journal's rankings showing him to be THE most liberal Senator (he even beat out our one Socialist Party Senator). Elegant backpedaling as he explains why he joined and supported a Black Liberation Theology church and exposed his daughters to a lifetime of crackpot hate speech and racist conspiracy theories by telling us that we "Need a dialogue on race" (as opposed to the dialogue on race we've been having perpetually for the last 50 years). Yes, Nancy has skills - and is working hard to win the gold medal in Bamboozlement.
