Mitt Romney is good at many things. Having sons. Running the
Olympics. Becoming conservative. But being funny is not one of them.
At a bloggers for Mike Huckabee conference yesterday (more on
that later), one of my fellow laptop jockeys asked notorious pain-aficionado
(and hardcore Huckabee supporter) Chuck Norris an important question:
"How badly do you want to roundhouse-kick Mitt Romney?" Norris's
response? "I don't roundhouse-kick. I choke." Pow. Of course, only a
fool takes Firewalker's politics as seriously as his fists. But rather than laugh it off, the Romney camp today released a web
video in response to Norris's "attack."
Cue the cringing.
Memo
to Mitt: Huckabee can do humor. You can't. There's a big difference
between saying "I am funny" and actually saying something funny. And
"Roundhouse Kick" isn't particularly funny.
It may, however, prove dangerous. How else to describe a
spot that calls Chuck Norris a hypocrite for supporting the
pardon-happy Huckabee? Remember, governor, Chuck Norris does not sleep.
He waits.
And now you've made him mad.
