'Change' Isn't the Only Thing Romney 'Borrowed' From Obama

Andrew Romano

What does Mitt Romney's new sign (as seen tonight at a Bedford, N.H. rally)...

... have in common with Obama's old sign (as seen at, like, every rally since last fall)?

It's called "Futura," and it's also the typeface of Volkswagen and director Wes Anderson--both young, "refreshing," think-outside-the-box brands. According to a fontophile friend, Futura conveys "purity, regularity and high modernism."

Mitt, you sly dog, you.

That is not futura, there is a major differences in the stresses and finishes. If you look at the E and C they do not align to a futura E and C, the finishes are angular while futura uses perfect verticals. The G in change, also has a stroke change from round to vertical, futura does not have that.

Mitt Romney did use futura light though with extra kerning

Mitt reinventing himself?  I'm shocked.  And such a cheery slogan, too!

Next up from Rudy: "TERRORISTS WILL KILL YOU."
