Oh, and also she has no qualifications or experience to be VP, I forgot that part. Duh...
Speaking only for myself, the fact of questioning Palin's ability is not the point I'm trying to make, it is the timing of this whole deal. How many mothers can deny the effects of childbearing on their body and mental state? Especially someone in their mid-40s. In articles I have read so far, she has stated she already gets little sleep, she's late for meetings due to her family commitments...I can't answer for anyone else, but I would never question a father's ability or responsibility to parent as well or better than a woman. They certainly can parent effectively and many times better. That is not the point. And cut out the sexist comments and listen to the facts. Obama's kids are older, they are not babies. If Palin were to run for this office 5 years from now, or even 3, I would likely jump on her bandwagon. But how ridiculous to do it now, when anyone who has borne a child knows, her stamina and physical condition are surely not the greatest after only 4 months, and add to that the stress of her daughter's out-of-wedlock pregnancy and upcoming birth of a first grandchild that will be only months younger than her own child, a son in Iraq, the ethics charges from her governorship...the list goes on. Any one of these things is a big life-changing deal in itself bringing loads of stress to a family. Is she going to come to work fresh and totally focused on her duties at hand in the second highest office in this country... uh, I would guess probably NOT. So the fact that she is willing to even consider this position at this time in her life seems to me to be pretty irrational and basically selfish. Her whole family is going to suffer from all the exposure and delving into personal issues as all politicians' families do, with or without children. Yes, people with children can govern effectively, men or women, but that doesn't mean they all should. In Palin's case, quit trying to prove that a woman can do it....in my mind a woman certainly CAN, but the timing is all wrong for it to be her.
First, let me say I was a Hillary supporter and will now vote Obama. Having said that, I feel the need to address all these people questioning Palin's ability because she is a mother. That the children will suffer, or her ability to govern will suffer....although I feel she is not the right person for the VP role, what the heck does it matter if she has children?? She has a husband, who seems capable of raising children too. No one questions why Obama will have a hard time being President and raising 2 small children. Enough with the sexist attitudes, please.
Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
