Newsweek Exclusive: Top Clinton Supporter John Coale Endorses McCain

John Coale, a prominent Washington lawyer, husband of Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, announced today that he was supporting John McCain for president. Coale, who traveled with Sen. Clinton, President Clinton and her family through out the primary season, complained of sexism, and said the Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types" in an exclusive interview with Newsweek.com's Tammy Haddad. He said he tried to prevent Clinton's brother, Tony Rodham, from attending an August 18th meeting in Scranton, Pa. with McCain campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina. "I urged him not to go and told him it would embarrass his sister, but he has a mind of his own." Coale says Mr. Rodham asked Ms. Fiorina "about McCain's Supreme Court picks."

Furthermore, his Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 - also known as the Biden Crime Bill - put more than 100,000 cops on America's streets and increased dramatically federal support for innovative criminal justice prevention and rehabilitation.

To jbleeze's comments saying that Joe Biden hasn't brought change.

The man wrote and passed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), its programs are still caring for, training, and providing for victims of domestic violence.

In re: Palin's veto of the bill to kill spousal benefits for gays.

Before you spout any more lies about Palin, I suggest you do a little reading so that you don't make a fool out of yourself.

You think Palin vetoed that bill out of compassion for Gay families? You've got to be kidding me. She was prepared to sign the anti-gay bill into law when her State Attorney General told her she better not, that the provision was already ruled unconstitutional by Alaska's highest court.

So, with great reluctance at losing the opportunity to bash Alaskan gays, she vetoed the bill.

Do not kid yourself - or any of the rest of us - into believing that Palin is pro-gay in any sense of the words. She is not. To her, we are sinners, evil-doers who should be punished. She would take away our civil rights and family rights without batting an eyelash.
