To my surprise, the leading three candidates have responded within twenty-four hours to the absurdity that Biden, Dodd, and Kucinich may be cast out of the New Hampshire St. Anselm debate just days before our primary, in part due to how Iowans caucus.

Presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich, has written a letter to his Iowa supporters asking them to support Barack Obama in precincts where he believes he will not be successful:
“I hope Iowans will caucus for me as their first choice this Thursday, because of my singular positions on the war, on health care, and trade. This [...]

Today’s afternoon delight was a Mitt Romney house party at the home of Ann Warren and family. It was in a suburban neighborhood where the houses are all white or beige and look almost identical.
Jane and I were among the first to arrive, well before any other media. Ann welcomed us in and didn’t [...]

Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has already come under (GOP) fire for comments “dissing” President George Bush’s foreign policy, getting into a tussle with Republican icon Rush Limbaugh — and then there was his (in)famous press conference with the Romney ad. Has he stuck his foot in his mouth again?

Governor Mike Huckabee decided to hold a blogger conference call on New Years Day. Normally holding this on a holiday would seem unusual, but with the Iowa caucuses in two days, they have little choice but to keep on the job throughout the last 72 hours. The conference appears to be getting off to a slightly late start, but I will live-blog it once it begins.read more

A poll to be released Wednesday shows that members of the AARP, most of whom are part of the 55 and older voting bloc with the highest turnout during elections, are largely undecided about their presidential candidate preference.

OK, so is it a surprise to anyone that Jay Leno’s first guest will be Mike Huckabee after breaking with the WGA strikers!
On the eve of the Iowa caucuses, Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee will trade jokes with Jay Leno on NBC’s “Tonight Show.”
While his rivals will be making a final appeal to the state’s [...]

A new poll brings cheery New Year’s news to Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton and Republican Senator John McCain — and gives yet another indication that New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s candidacy is seemingly deflating.

This ad from Mitt Romney that they released today sort of encapsulates just whats wrong with Romney. It's fine and dandy for political ads to step outside of the box in their format, but Romney's is the first I've ever seen that seems to think those bland ads for GlobalChemCorp are the sort to be emulated.read more

Kos is going after Obama for "attacking" Gore and Kerry. To my reading, Obama is pointing out the problem of Gore/Kerry working with a 50-50 electorate and the difficulty of winning over more than just that in the electorate. But the real problem in Kos' post is citing Joe Trippi as some sort of independent observer. Trippi is working for Edwards, he's got a vested interest in attacking Sen.read more

Last week, pundits across the spectrum castigated Mike Huckabee for a couple of glaring mistakes in his response to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. He offered "apologies" to Pakistanis, later clarifying to "condolences", and inexplicably placed Afghanistan on Pakistan's eastern border, rather than western.read more

I know several of our readers are tired of posts on Ron Paul but Fox News’ announcement that it would exclude candidates not polling in the double digits from their pre-New Hampshire primary debates has set off a firestorm, getting a sharp negative reaction from not only the blogosphere but the New Hampshire GOP.

Ralph Nader, a four-time presidential candidate whom many Democrats blame for costing Al Gore the 2000 election, has endorsed John Edwards’ candidacy.
Ralph Nader unleashed on Hillary Rodham Clinton Monday - criticizing her for being soft on defense spending and a chum of big business - and expressed his strong support for John Edwards.

Sunday, Mike Huckabee answered a question about punishing doctors for performing abortions: “I think if a doctor knowingly took the life of an unborn child for money, and that’s why he was doing it, yeah, I think you would, you would find some way to sanction that doctor. I don’t know that you’d put him in prison, but…”
