John Amato: Crooks and Liars

John Amato is a 48-year-old professional musician--sax and flute--who has recorded and toured with major artists. Amato founded the Crooks and Liars blog in October 2003, which pioneered video blogging in the pre-YouTube era. Today, C&L is one of the most influential, widely read progressive blogs on the Internet. Amato has played with or recorded for The Goo Goo Dolls, Ringo Starr, Duran Duran, The Knack, Eddie Money, John Taylor, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagen of Velvet Revolver, Ronnie Montrose, Glen Hughes of Deep Purple and Elliot Easton of The Cars. He has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Forbes, USA Today, and The Washington Post and was part of CNN's election night coverage in 2006.
